List of Active NGOs in Serbia

If you believe that your organization’s work within civil society is contributing to the democratic development of Serbia we invite you to register by filling our online questionnaire in order to put your organization on our active NGOs list. If you are already registered, have your password and you want to refresh your organization’s date, you can do that here.

After the data is processed, the main facts about your organization will be uploaded to www.proconcept.to, and you will be able to update them any time you wish.

The new NGO clasification describes each organization based on five important aspects of its work:

  1. Primary Area of Desired Impact
(In what priority area is your NGO trying to make improvements?)
Primary area of desired impact is a specific area in which an organization is hoping to achieve social change or a significant improvement. It is usually an area that is either explicitly stated or implied in the organization’s mission statement. Often times, organizations are either forced to or decide to work in multiple areas in order to achieve results. However, for the purpose of this classification, it is sufficient to pick one primary area, that best corresponds to the strategic approach, and/or in which the organization is focusing its work.

  2. Primary Type of Operations
Includes the primary type of work, method, technique and/or type of service that an organization is providing. The following options are offered under this category: Direct service; Training the direct service providers; Capacity building to individuals and institutions; Public education; Policy formulation/analysis; Research, analysis and/or planning; Policy advocacy; Monitoring and evaluation; Media/work with media; Watchdog; Funding/Sub-granting.
It is important to distinguish here between project components (such as a certain level of situational analysis and/or monitoring and evaluation) and the basic way in which an NGO does business.

  3. Primary Focus of Activities
This category aims to provide more clarity regarding a specific focus of an organization’s activities that, collectively, contribute to impact in the primary area selected. It is important to note that aggregate rather than project-level information is required.

  4. Primary Scope of Operations
Responds to the question regarding a geographic coverage of an organization. Organizations that target individuals according to certain criteria do not always take geographic coverage into account. That is why work with individuals is provided as a separate category.

  5. Primary Organizational Type
Provides answers to the following questions: whether an organization is registered or not and whether it mostly operates on its own or through networks and coalitions (more formalized-federation or less formalized-association). Not to be confused with a question: are you a member of any network?
