Analysis of NGO Environment in Serbia - Transition Challenges
A. Main Project Goal:
Definition of elements of sustainable civil society development and contribution to creation of pre-requisites for further strengthening and development of processes leading towards creation of open, tolerant and democratic society in Serbia trough analysis of environment in which NGOs operate in Serbia.
B. Specific Project Goals:

Contribution to creation of pre-requisites for improvement of NGOs work through analysis of positive regulations and creation of recommendations that might serve as basis for preparation of a new “transitional strategy” intended for non-governmental organisations that are wishing to change and accept principles based upon new modern basis of operation and management.

Contribution to creation of pre-requisites for improvement of NGOs work through analysis and endeavour to conceptualise favourable political environment, as well as to provide recommendations/ideas for launching the action aimed at establishment of more favourable political environment.

Contribution to creation of pre-requisites for improvement of NGOs work through analysis of the leading media and their contribution to recognizability of the NGOs work through analysis of accessibility of information, scope of media representation and analysis of contents and types of information carried by the leading media.

Contribution to creation of pre-requisites for improvement of NGOs work through analysis of strategies and procedures of the leading donors presently active in Serbia .

Promotion of the NGO sector and encouraging both the public and the NGOs to reconsider the NGOs' role and seek out better solutions for their functioning.
C. Project Activities:

Activities in the area of analysis of existing legislation;

Activities in the area of analysis of political environment;

Activities in the area of analysis of the media coverage of the NGOs' work;

Activities in the area of analysis of strategies and procedures of donors presently active in Serbia ;

Activities aimed to promote the project and obtain appropriate publicity for research findings and recommendations.
