From Third Place to Third Sector

Nearly one hundred NGO managers gathered in the Belgrade Intercontinental Hotel for a one day conference entitled Civil Society in Serbia – from Third Place to Third Sector.

The idea behind this event, which received support from Canadian International Development Agency, The British Council and the Danish Embassy in Belgrade was to assist civil society organizations in Serbia in their efforts to act together in order to change their collective strategic position. The underlying assumption was that ensuring a stable, self-sustainable democratic society in Serbia requires a strong third sector of civil society which is strategically integrated with the developing public and private sectors. Therefore, ProConcept strives to contribute to an increased capacity of civil society organizations to build partnership with governments and network with other civil society organizations.
